Scientific method process picture

I find this a useful picture. Can anyone let me know who put it together, so I can acknowledge it properly?

  1. Looks as if it was made by "ArchonMagnus" in 2008, but happy to get further particulars.

  2. You can find a history of the image at the wikimedia page:

  3. it would be complete if it only included a 20-page discourse on the relative merits of Kuhn and Lakatos :(

  4. I like the sound of Lakatos. Seems closer to the actualite. Would you like to propose some alterations? I would suggest that after "Develop general theories" we add "Protect those general theories with auxiliary hypotheses till the process becomes ridiculous"

  5. You're so interesting! I do not think I've read anything like that before. So wonderful to find someone with some unique thoughts on this topic. Seriously.. many thanks for starting this up. This website is something that's needed on the web, someone with a little originality!
