Conference news

Big advances is scanning techniques have allowed researchers to look at single neurones firing as subjects complete mental tasks. The pattern of neurones lighting up may reveal slight differences between medium and higher ability subjects, all of whom have been assessed for general intelligence. Eventually this might allow a version of an IQ test to be utilised based on neuronal signals alone. Aside from giving yet further support to the concept of intelligence, it could have utility with locked in syndrome patients.
